Francis Howell Vikings (1) : Howell sported a crush- ing offense last season as they averaged over 40 points per contest and only fell short of that mark just three times in 12 games. They yielded less than 10 points per game, and their op- ponent put up a single digit score five times. The Vikings were the top ranked Class 6 public school team in the state in 2014 as they showed offan 11-1 record. Fort Zumwalt West Jaguars (2): The Jaguars ranked 23rd in the state last season, and despite a tougher schedule they are pinned at 21st for this fall. They will face the juggernaut CBC team on Sept. 4 and the highly-rated Francis Howell squad two weeks later on Sept. 18. Despite losing four games last sea- son the team averaged over 43 points per contest. Fort Zumwalt North Panthers (3): North went 4-0 against other Fort Zumwalt teams last campaign, and picked up victories against respectable teams St. Charles West (11-4 record) and Timber- land (6-4). The Panthers defeated their opponents by an average of 27 points, and their two losses were by three points to Parkway Central and seven points to Battle. Hazelwood Central Hawks (4): Hazelwood Central could possibly be Kirkwood's closest match in the St. Louis area re- garding talent. Just like the Pioneers, the Hawks went 11-2 in 2014. While Kirk-

wood only played CBC once, and lost, Central faced the Cadets twice and fell short both times. Fortunately, despite both being members of the Suburban 12 conference, the Pioneers will not face the Hawks. McCluer North Stars (5): The Stars gave Kirkwood a classic contest last August, starting offon top but falling short as Jerod Alton, now a senior, returned a punt for a touchdown to take the lead and sealed the Pioneer victory with an interception, both in the fourth quarter. North ranked 52nd in the state last sea- son, but have fallen to 68th preceding this fall. Lafayette Lancers (6) : After dropping their first three contests last season, including a 48-21 loss to Kirkwood, the Lancers went on a four-game win streak between Sept. 12 and Oct. 3. Lafayette lost to the Pioneers 56-9 in the postseason, but they should be a respectable unit consid- ering they are ranked inside Missouri's Top 50 (out of 343). Eureka Wildcats (7): The Cats allowed less than 100 points all season in 2014, and their dominant defense led the team to shutouts against Fort Zumwalt East, Parkway South, Lindbergh and Hazel- wood East. Both of their losses came against Lafayette, and the total point differential for those games combined was only seven. CBC Cadets (8): The Cadets ex- hausted the Pioneers 55-10 last fall en route to a 31-24 Class 6 State Cham- pionship victory over Rockhurst High School of Kansas City. The team aver- aged 50 points per beat down during their 15-0 season, and are ranked num- ber one in the state entering this fall. Webster Groves Statesmen (9): Kirkwood's neighbors are once again equipped to be competitive, and they should extend their streak of winning seasons to eight. Even though Kirkwood has crushed the Statesmen in Turkey Day games the last two seasons by a combined score of 71-6, Webster shows offa 66-18 record since 2008. SLUH Junior Bills (10): SLUH was one of just two teams (CBC was the other) to defeat Kirkwood last season, and they only snuck by with a 38-35 win. The Bills' will face a much tougher schedule this season, as they will again face Chaminade, CBC and Kirkwood, all of which will provide strong opposition.
